
Ugwuomu community, Emene, in Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, was agog as Rotary Club of Wyndham in Australia and Rotary Club of Enugu GRA Nigeria donated medical and educational materials worth millions of naira to the community.
The donation of the medical supplies is to improve healthcare delivery and promote maternal and child health across various health centres in the community.
The medical facilities include noses masks, walking clutches, motorised walking aid, surgical Anaesthetics, surgical plasters, malaria drugs and surgical storage kits among others.

The educational supplies also benefitted several schools and would play a crucial role in fostering basic education and literacy among children in the area.
It was gathered that one of the standout initiatives from the partnership is the HAT For Phil Project, which promotes peace and conflict resolution and focuses on economic empowerment for local farmers.
Speaking during the presentation of the items at the Ugwuomu Health Centre, District Governor Nominee of the Club, Chibuzo Asogwa commended the partnership between the two clubs and expressed gratitude for their collaborative efforts at ensuring the successful delivery of the impactful projects within the community.
He emphasised Rotary’s vital role in addressing global issues and fostering positive change.
President of the Rotary Club of Enugu GRA, Rotn Chijioke Lawrence Asomugha, thanked the members of the Rotary Club of Wyndham for their unwavering support.

He promised that their club would continue to meet their financial and logistical contributions, which he said have been essential in achieving the objectives of their collaborative projects.
He underscored the dedication of the Rotary Club of Wyndham, saying it was further highlighted by the presence of past President Rotn Pascal Ochi and Immediate Past President Rotn Yvonne Ochi, who participated in delivering medical and educational supplies.
Earlier, Ochi had reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the vulnerable members of the community received the necessary support, even as he informed members of the Rotary Club of Enugu GRA of efforts to monitor the performance of scholarship recipients and other collaborative projects.
He stated that as both clubs continues to work together, their collaborative spirit would remain a shining example of how Rotary can effect meaningful change in communities worldwide.
