The Chairman of the Enugu State All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has said that Governor Peter Mbah’s planned defection to the APC will mark a significant turning point for the Southeast region.

According to Nwoye, Mbah’s entry into the APC will end Enugu’s decade-long stint in opposition and usher in a new phase of political inclusion and national relevance for the region.

Nwoye stated that Mbah will be joined by a broad delegation of political leaders and office holders in the state, including 260 councillors, 24 state lawmakers, National Assembly members, and the entire state executive council.

He described the defection as a “historic alignment” between transformation and renewed hope.

The APC caretaker chairman commended Mbah’s performance in his two years as governor, describing him as a symbol of innovation and transformational leadership.

Nwoye noted that Enugu State had become a national model of innovation and efficiency under Mbah’s leadership, with achievements in governance, coding initiatives, and modern governance systems.
