JTBS Domestic Tourism Conference Kicks off In Enugu, Sept 5-6, As Peter Obi, Others Speak On The Industry

All is now set for Jands Business School Domestic Tourism Conference slated for September 5-6, this year.

Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi (CON) will be the Keynote Speaker at the conference scheduled to hold at Ofuobi Africa Centre, Enugu begining at 9am.

Director, Jands Travel Business School (JTBS) Enugu, Mrs. Chioma Obi, who made this known to newsmen on Monday, said that the theme of the conference is, “The Future of Domestic Tourism in Nigeria: Embracing Our Arts and Culture”.

Mrs Obi further stated that the former governor (Peter Obi) will speak on the topic titled: “Where is Nigeria going? Tourism, Culture, And The Future We Are failing To Build”.

She further said that among the key speakers and top dignitaries expected at the event are: Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Chief Ben Etiaba FCA – Board Chairman JTBS, Monsignor Prof. Obiora Ike, Founder, CIDJAP, Dame Elizabeth Oyibo Agu – Former Director, Pioneer Branch Controller, CBN, Asaba, and other notable speakers

The Jands boss noted that the highly anticipated event will bring together key stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond, to engage in conversations and actions that deepen the appreciation, investment and structure of domestic tourism in our country.

“Objectives of the 2025 Conference are to promote domestic tourism as a sustainable economic driver for youth and women as well as provide a platform for policy engagement, creative industry synergy, and destination branding”, she said.

Mrs Obi urged members of the public to, “Get ready to be inspired, challenged, and empowered as we explore new pathways for growth in Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industry.
Attendance is FREE but registration is a must.

Recall that the Chairman, Board of Trustees, JTBS, Chief Ben Etiaba, had announced that the 2025 edition of the travel business school’s annual domestic tourism conference will inspire and empower many people in the growth of tourism and hospitality industry in the country.

Chief Etiaba FCA who disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the inuaguration of the committee ahead of the conference, told journalists that the idea of the event is to promote tourism in the Southeast geo-political zone and Nigeria at large, pointing out that the theme of the conference is apt and timely.

Also speaking, Monsignor Professor Obiora Ike, Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of University of Jos and a Professor of Ethics and Intercultural Studies at Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu and the Jands Board of Trustees Advisor, said that the conference is in line with the Schools efforts in repositioning tourism as a tool for economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and youth development.
