A controversy has erupted within the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) over claims of an impostor parading as the Zonal Chairman for the Eastern Zone.
Honourable Chukwudi Fred Ezinwa, a former PRO and Chairman of IPMAN Enugu Depot, and current National Ex-Officio representing the East at the National Executive Council (NEC), has come forward to debunk the claims of Prince Bobby Dick, who allegedly calls himself the Zonal Chairman.
Impostor Claims Denied
According to Ezinwa, Bobby Dick’s claims are baseless and an insult to the IPMAN constitution. “We don’t know him as our Zonal Chairman,” Ezinwa stated. “In fact, our Zonal Chairman, Chief Larry Nworu, is currently in the mortuary, and we haven’t even buried him yet. It’s uncalled for for Bobby Dick to parade himself as the Zonal Chairman of IPMAN.”
NUPENG-Dangote Standoff
On the ongoing standoff between NUPENG and Dangote Petroleum Refinery, Ezinwa urged caution and restraint. “We can’t say anything on this issue for now because the National President, Alhaji Gerima Shettima, has not made any pronouncements,” he said. “The issue is between our employers and an investor, so we need to bring everyone together for a dialogue.”
Ezinwa expressed concerns about the potential impact of a strike on the masses. “Nobody should add more pain to the injury of the masses,” he pleaded. “The strike wouldn’t be felt by Dangote, the governors, Senators, and the rich in Nigeria. It’s only the poor and the common man in the streets that will feel it.”
Call for Dialogue
Ezinwa emphasized the need for a table discussion to resolve the issue. “Dangote and NUPENG should sit down and discuss,” he said. “This is a matter of discussions, and if there’s a way he is not getting it right, we need to find a solution.” Ezinwa said.
