…University to Inaugurate New DNA Centre

Over 70% of Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI) graduates secure employment after their national service, thanks to the practical and industry-relevant skills imparted during their studies. This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor of GOUNI, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, during the university’s 13th convocation marathon race.

Rev. Fr. Anieke emphasized the importance of technology and innovation in education, highlighting the institution’s commitment to fostering inclusive education and making a positive impact in Enugu State and beyond. The marathon is part of the university’s week-long convocation activities, which started on Sunday, November 30, with a Holy Mass.

The convocation ceremony will feature notable events, including Creativity Day, Parents’ Forum, Entrepreneurship Day, and a Convocation Lecture. Two distinguished Nigerians will receive honorary doctorate degrees, while two senior academics will be awarded the title of Professor Emeritus.

The university will also be inaugurating its new DNA Centre at the main campus in Ugwuomu Nike before the end of the year. This development is expected to further enhance the university’s research capabilities and contribute to the growth of the local community.
