In a heartwarming story of compassion and intervention, the Luke Chibueze Adonwe Human Foundation (LACH Foundation), a non-governmental organization, has picked up and rehabilitated a 50-year-old woman, Mrs. Mary Nwojon, who was living in dire conditions at a public waste bin in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Mrs. Nwojon became depressed and partially lost her mental stability after being disengaged from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in 2024 without pay or compensation.
The disengagement was reportedly due to not having a Bachelor’s degree, affecting over 4,000 staff.
The LACH Foundation has been providing Mrs. Nwojon with medical treatment, money, relief materials, and other forms of support, helping her recover to a normal life.
Barrister Luke Chibueze Adonwe, Chief Executive and Founder of LACH Foundation, handed over some relief materials to Mrs. Nwojon at his office in Abakaliki.
Adonwe assured that the foundation will fight for the payment of all her benefits “to the Glory of God.”
“I was disengaged from service in 2024 from National Identity Management Commission NIMC…I have been on the street depressed and feeding on debris,” Mrs. Nwojon said, expressing gratitude to the LACH Foundation for coming to her aid.
“Today, Luke Chibueze Adonwe Human Foundation (LACH Foundation) has picked me from where I was picking debris and gave me shelter, food, Relief Materials and health care.”Mrs. Nwojon said.
The LACH Foundation’s mission includes caring for the elderly, orphans, and vulnerable children, promoting community peace, advancing human rights, and improving access to healthcare and education.
