Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has shed light on why her husband, President Bola Tinubu, supports Governor Peter Mbah’s administration in Enugu State. According to her, the President backs leaders who judiciously deploy public funds for the greater good of the people.
Commissioning of Technical, Vocational Education and Training College
Mrs. Tinubu made this revelation during the commissioning of the Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College, GTC, Enugu. The college, built by the Governor Mbah administration, features 24 ultra-modern skill training centers and hostels for 1,000 resident students.
President’s Interest in Performance
The First Lady noted that the President’s support for Governor Mbah’s administration stems from the governor’s effective use of resources. She emphasized that the President prioritizes performance over political affiliations, as evident in his visit to Enugu on January 4, where he praised Governor Mbah’s commitment to human development.
Governor Mbah’s Vision for Education
Governor Mbah explained that the TVET college is part of a broader vision to transform education in Enugu State. The governor highlighted the importance of equipping youths with skills to shape the future, moving away from outdated memorization-based learning to experiential learning.
