Enugu State Launches Modern Transport System with 5 Ultramodern Terminals

In a groundbreaking move transforming transportation in Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah inaugurated five state-of-the-art transport terminals across the state on Thursday.

The terminals, located at Holy Ghost Terminal 1 (inter-state transport), Holy Ghost Terminal 2 (inter-city transport), Nsukka Terminal, Abakpa Nike Terminal, and the Gariki Terminal, are part of the administration’s integrated Transport Infrastructure Projects, Phase 1.

Key Features of the Terminals and Transport System

  • Modern Amenities: The terminals boast food courts, banking halls, motels, shops, CNG refilling stations, and cinemas.
  • Connectivity: Holy Ghost Terminals 1 and 2 are connected by a 400m sky bridge, said to be the longest in Nigeria.
  • CNG Buses: Buses feature free WiFi and security equipment.
  • Digital Platform: An e-ticketing system ensures transparency and eliminates corruption.

Governor Mbah emphasized that the projects align with his vision to grow Enugu State’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.

The Enugu Transport Management System is expected to create over 20,000 jobs across various sectors.
