Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has received accolades for his remarkable achievements in various sectors since taking office less than two years ago.
The Enugu State Coalition for Progress, (Nsukka Zone) at the weekend organized a Dialogue Series at Adada House, Nsukka, where Mbah’s efforts were praised by notable figures, including Professor Simon Otuanya, a former Secretary to the Enugu State Government, and Osita Ogbu, a former Economic Advisor to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
They highlighted Mbah’s Achievements
Industrial Hub: Enugu State has been transformed from a civil service state to an industrial hub under Mbah’s leadership, with significant investments and projects.
Education: The state has experienced unprecedented growth in the education sector, with Enugu State becoming the highest spender on education in Nigeria with the smart school project.
Internally Generated Revenue: Mbah’s administration has seen a substantial increase in Internally Generated Revenue, positioning the state to potentially reduce its dependence on federal allocations.
Tourism: Efforts are being made to revive tourism in Enugu State, with Mbah’s administration building an entrepreneur-friendly environment.
Security: The governor has introduced technology to combat insecurity and promised to increase salaries for local security operators, such as vigilantes.
Endorsements and Praise
Vote of Gratitude: The Enugu State Coalition for Progress passed a vote of gratitude to Mbah, endorsing his continued leadership and development initiatives.
Performing Governor: Dennis Agbo, a member of the National Assembly, described Mbah as a performing governor who has allocated projects to wards, benefiting Enugu North significantly.
