The Enugu State Police Command is gearing up for a hitch-free June 12 Democracy Day celebration. Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, held a strategic conference with senior officers to discuss security arrangements.

Key Directives

  • Effective Deployment: Area Commanders, PMF Squadrons’, and Tactical Squads’ Commanders, as well as Divisional Police Officers, were directed to ensure effective deployment of personnel and resources.
  • Professionalism: CP Giwa emphasized the need for professionalism before, during, and after the celebration, warning that supervising officers would be held accountable for any lapses.
  • Herders/Farmers-Related Crimes: The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations to coordinate resources to areas prone to such crimes.

Cooperation with Community Leaders

Area Commanders were ordered to work with community leaders and local security to ensure sustained public safety. CP Giwa extended his goodwill to the government and people of Enugu State, wishing them a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration.
