Ebonyi Governor Constructs Clinic, Hostel For NYSC Members

The Governor of Ebonyi State Southeast, Mr Francis Nwifuru has assured the Corps Members of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to the State of robust welfare and adequate safety throughout their stay in the State for their one year National Youth Service.

The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and sports development Mr Richard IIdike disclosed this during the swearing- in ceremony of 2025 Batch ‘B’ stream II corps Members at NYSC permanent Orientation camp, located at Old MacGregor college, Afikpo Local Government Area of the State

“In Ebonyi, we deeply value the ideals of NYSC. My administration is fully committed to supporting your welfare and ensuring your safety throughout your stay. You are welcome, safe, and highly valued here.

“Your presence here is more than a statutory duty, it is a demonstration of your readiness to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.You are part of a proud tradition where young men and women from diverse regions and backgrounds unite for national service.

“Your intellect, courage, and commitment remain the lifeblood of Nigeria’s enduring promise.

“Through the Skill-Up Ebonyi Digital Programme, launched with partners like GetBundi and the BERWO Foundation, thousands of youths are being trained in digital skills such as content creation,video editing, social media marketing, and networking. These opportunities are open to Corps Members”. He added.

The Governor also inspected the ongoing camp clinic and Hostels

The NYSC State Coordinator Mrs Oladeinde Foluke thanked Government at all levels for the wonderful work done in the camp.

“However, as we continue to improve the camp environment, we respectfully appeal for support in addressing the following challenges:- Upgrading the dilapidated kitchen to a modern facility with a standard dining hall,ensuring hygienic and efficient food services. – Provision of a SAED (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development)Centre within the Orientation Camp to equip Corps Members with essential skills for self-reliance.- Erection of the fallen portions of the perimeter fencing of the camp to strengthen overall security”. Oladeinde added.

The State Coordinator further thanked all the stakeholders especially the security agencies and collaborating agencies for making the camping successful.

The representative of Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Nicolas Nwofe administered the oath of allegiance to the Corps members.

The total number of this Batch is 957, 436 males and 521 females.

One of the new Crops members, Taiwo Osuolale, from Ondo State pledged loyalty and dedication.
