The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has denied claims by businessman Prince Arthur Eze that President Bola Ahmed Tinibu has endorsed Governor Peter Mbah for a second term in office. The party described Eze’s claims as “misleading and completely baseless.”

APC’s Rebuttal

In a statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Titus Ezeagu, the APC emphasized that Arthur Eze is not a member of the party and has no mandate to speak on behalf of President Tinubu. The party noted that Eze openly opposed Tinubu’s presidential ambition during the 2023 general elections.

No Endorsement from Tinubu

The APC stated that President Tinubu has not made any public or private statement endorsing Governor Mbah for a second term. The party advised Eze to desist from making pronouncements that could undermine the democratic process in Enugu State and the country.

APC’s Commitment

The party reaffirmed its commitment to building a strong political alternative for the people of Enugu State, emphasizing that endorsement for any second term would come through the electoral process, not media pronouncements. The APC called on the media and the general public to regard Eze’s statements as personal opinions with no basis in fact.
