Anambra: Tenant Stabs Landlord over Unpaid Electricity Bill

A shocking incident unfolded in Onitsha, Anambra State, as a tenant identified as Chukwuneke Ebehu allegedly stabbed his landlord, Mr. Tochukwu Nnaji, leaving him in critical condition. The dispute reportedly stemmed from an unpaid electricity bill of N9,250.

The incident occurred on Friday night at approximately 9:43 pm, as revealed by Mr. Nnaji on his social media platform. Photos of the victim show a stab wound on the upper side of his stomach, near his chest, indicating the severity of the assault.

Mr. Nnaji, currently hospitalized and fighting for his life, expressed his shock and dismay over the violent attack by his tenant, who hails from the Ezza region of Ebonyi State.

While details of the altercation remain unclear, Mr. Nnaji emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating that further medical treatment or surgery may be necessary if his condition worsens.

The community has been left in shock by this senseless act of violence, prompting calls for justice and reevaluation of landlord-tenant relationships.
